Good Monday morning, my friends.
As I have said before, I believe we need to preach the Gospel to ourselves every day. This resets us to a starting point of humility from which we can view ourselves and others more objectively (and more as God sees us/them). A "reboot" for our attitude, if you will.
To assist in this endeavor this morning, I offer a prayer from well known theologian William Barclay.
Grace and peace be yours in abundance,
Bruce
O Father, give us the humility which
Realizes its ignorance,Admits its mistakes,Recognizes its need,Welcomes advice,Accepts rebuke.
Help us always
To praise rather than to criticize,To sympathize rather than to discourage,To build rather than to destroy,And to think of people at their best rather than at their worst.
This we ask for thy name's sake.
Prayer of William Barclay
