Good Friday afternoon, my friends.
As a society we highly value education and most people encourage their kids to attend college or university. Satan is well aware of this and seems to expend a huge amount of energy infiltrating and influencing those institutions. And it has been very successful for him. The vast majority of "churched" children who attend university or college lose their faith by the time they graduate. We need to counteract this.
I have a special request for you today. Would you please pray for the hundred or so high school students from our church who are going on a youth retreat this weekend. Please pray that they will have an encounter with the God who created and loves them. Pray that they would be able to resist whatever attempts Satan makes to destroy their faith in the coming years. Pray as well for the youth in your own churches and schools.

God our Father, You see Your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world.Show them that Your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following You is better than chasing after selfish goals.Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start.Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation.Through Jesus Christ our Lord.Amen
