Peace, based on justice, righteousness and truth

Good Wednesday morning, my friends.

I am sure you have been watching the recent events unfolding in Tunisia, Egypt, and into the Middle East.  There is fear, trepidation, and excitement over the changes that are taking hold there.  It will have ramifications for governments and people everywhere.

In Matthew 24:6, Jesus says "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come."

We are not to be afraid of the changes that may come, but rather to have faith that the One we call Father, Abba, is in control of everything.  Join me today in this prayer for peace for the people of Africa, the Middle East, and indeed everywhere there is conflict in the world today.

Grace and peace be yours in abundance,
Bruce

O Almighty God,
the Father of all humanity,
turn, we pray, the hearts of all peoples and their rulers,
that by the power of your Holy Spirit
peace may be established among the nations
on the foundation of justice, righteousness and truth;
through him who was lifted up on the cross
to draw all people to himself,
your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

William Temple (1881-1944)
